Todd,

I wasn't suggesting that every investment should be held for 30 years. Instead, I was demonstrating the huge obstacle taxes present, giving every investor reason to give serious thought to their shorter term decisions that give rise to higher taxes and lower returns.

Feel free to run as many scenarios as you want. The fact remains that the shorter-term scenarios require a much higher pre-tax return to accomplish the same after-tax return of the longer-term scenarios.

'Nuff said.
