As has been the case for many months, online discussion about E*Trade's various IPO policies is frequent. The dialog has grown even more intense lately, largely due to changes in the anti-flip policy at E*Trade that took place in early 2000. There is currently confusion over exactly what the anti-flip policy is, with some people seemingly classified as flippers even though they held IPOs for the required 30 days before selling.
As many of you know, we will launch a new Online Investor Community in the very near future, called dollarStation.com. This community will have many benefits and features to offer, but the core of our existence will be defined by our service to you, the individual Online Investor. In light of that, we feel compelled to begin that service immediately even though the community is not quite ready for full operation. Without a doubt, the people right here are among the most loyal and active customers that E*Trade has. With that in mind, we want to be sure that E*Trade understands your thoughts and feelings on their IPO processes. And if there is an error within the anti-flip penalty system, we certainly want to bring that to E*Trade's attention.
We believe that with numbers behind us, we will be able to gain an effective audience with E*Trade. You can help us do this by participating in a very brief survey. The questions are not intrusive, the process is anonymous and fast, and there is no personal information gathered whatsoever as you participate. Please help us by adding your own thoughts right now, and please pass this request along to every online investor you know. Alone, it's hard to be heard.
