JC - I started buying SUNW in 1989 and held it until early 1996... I sold because the stock had been pretty much flat for a long time and I bought into the notion that SUNW would not break out of the workstation box... between January 1995 and December 1997, CPQ stock was a much better performer than SUNW, maybe 5 times as good an investment. In hindsight, the smart thing for me to have done would have been to sell CPQ in 1997 and buy SUNW - but hindsight is always better than foresight.
