A Phase I-II in a quarter would be pdq and it's not up to Dr. Chew and Techniclone, it's Schering's ball. That's why I toss out the Freudian slip scenario. However, a Phase III application for Cotara is entirely up to TCLN.
I am told TCLN is, technically speaking, a good buy. When it's convenient I'm a chartist and I'm a good listener.
Techniclone already has five fusion toxins (gamma interferon, tumor necrosis factor, I forget), they just get lost in the platform technology discussions. In BLSI I think you're talking Troponin which is an antiangiogenesis drug for metastatic tumors. TCLN has not disclosed what it has in this field but considers itself competitive with the Folkman agents. Troponin may fit in that category. TCLN's aa patent portfolio encompasses treatment for primary tumors. Publicly only Techniclone, Oxygene, and a private company called Carbomed are in this field. TCLN/OXGN believe they control the primary tumor market, and they are allied. Incoming (quick, duck) VTA licenses will tell us more. I would not be surprised if TCLN has a chunk of the metastatic market too.
I also predict cancer will be treated in combination drug regimens and Troponin may be a part of it. But as an agent. TCLN has stand-alone or combo delivery systems. TNT, VEA, VTA what the hay, TCLN will send it in.
Every person is different and every person's cancer cure is probably different. You find a cure and TCLN will send it in with more efficiency, more efficacy, and less toxicity than anything available. Meanwhile TCLN has some pretty darn good agents of its' own. |
