Yeah, he probably flunked his freshman composition class. :-)

The real problem was that he did not then take the next step in his arbitrage play. His analysis of the valuation discrepancy does seem tenable (if obtuse). But the true arbitrage play that would spring from his analysis, at least from the viewpoint of the CEGE investor, would have been to short ABGX and long GEGE. Todays action would have vindicated him.

I agree that it was mainly a margin squeeze at play here. But I think it was less orchestrated, more just the result of massive dumping of biotech funds which then must reflect their lost capital into the individual stocks.
