Felix - Re: "Is April the time for a split announcement ?"

Intel's Board Of Directors generally meet right prior to the earnings release - which would be one or two days before the actual release.

At that time, assuming the stock is still above $120, my best guess is that two motions will be made to (A) increase the number of authorized shares to permit a 2-for-1 split (pending shareholder approval) and, assuming (A) passes, (B) to split the stock 2 for 1.

If this goes as I surmise, the vote to increase the authorized shares and the split will be part of the earnings release announcement - or just after.

The timing is pretty good since the shareholders meeting will be May 17 - just a month and a few days from the Q1/2000 earnings release, making the "vote" very convenient.
