I actually viewed the Sarbanes grilling in February
it was brave, competent, and challenging
Sarbanes was thorough, inquisitive, respectful, and not doting
Gspoon needs to be challenged
he is soon to make a colossal error before viewing the full effects of his past rate hikes

if I were Gspan, I would issue a statement:

"this March 1/4 pt hike would be the last until a six-month period of examination and analysis is observed... the past 5 rate hikes engender a lagged effect on the economy... if after this time, labor shortages do not abate, and GDP growth fails to continue acceleration, then further rate hikes will come... if however the US economy is at the dawn of a revolution of technological achievement and exploitation, then steps will be taken NOT to prevent this mushrooming of progress"

but his contention that 20% stock index rise promotes 1% spending rise really sounds reasonable to me

interest rates are a blunt instrument
I would prefer to see abusers of credit punished and harnessed
e.g. Amazon, WorldCom

part of me is joshing you guys, part is serious

I wonder if the Federal Reserve has pressured brokerage houses to suddenly raise their margin maintenance levels

QCOM just got raised by Fidelity
shouldnt these bastards provide 30 days notice?
