"...stay with it" ? So you're in INAP after all? Good luck! I also take it that you had satisfactory results from the eye surgery? Need reading glasses? They are going to repair my dominant eye to 20/20 distance and purposefully not repair the other eye to 20/20, so that it will work for reading distance. They say in 90% of patients the brain "rewires" itself so that you don't notice. If I don't like it they'll repair the second eye to perfect distance vision and then reading glasses will definitely be necessary. This arrangement is called "mono-vision."
