Yeah, the day it bounced off 76.25 (missing me by 0.25) I got impatient and bought 79.
I have to decide whether to fill out the order (it was partial) or to try to trade the Greenspan Effect. I'll have time to decide later.
My dominant eye was done earlier than my left eye. The dominant eye was done with PRK, the other with Lasik. The right eye degraded and, in effect, I have mono vision. When I'm tired I still use reading glasses. I intend to decide in April whether to enhance the right eye to 20/20. I believe it degraded because of all the computer work I do, but whatever the case in retrospect I prefer to use the glasses and intend to have the right eye re-cut.
My eyes were bad enough that the halo effect has taken a long time to iron out. (The way the eyes are dished there is a natural rim where the surgery started and stopped. This rim creates the halo. As the eyes wear the rim recedes and the halo is reduced.)
The effect of driving, making people out at a distance, small things like that have made the benefit of not needing reading glasses a minor benefit. But then my right eye regressed to 20/50, far worse than you probably have yours planned to be set at.
Reading glasses are not such an issue anyway. For 10 bucks a shot, I keep spare pairs all around. Closing my right eye, I can easily read down to 10 or 12 point type with my left (the eye set at 20/20). It's only if I am reading for prolonged periods that I put on the glasses anyway.
All said and done, I'm happy with the operation. |
