Great post, Ron! I am curious to know what the SEC said. Don't worry about the length - the content is the important thing and shows the realism that any of us, at any point, could be in such a situation.

The Y2K & Feb 29 issues seem to be well known as covered in depth by the media. From that one might guess that just about any firm would be in that situation, after all the media presents an accurate picture of everything.

The SEC probably cannot conclusively give you the green light that something is not inside info, but they can tell you what is inside info, so my guess is they said it is not likely to be inside info -- probably had to come from a director, officer, of the company.
