In 1990 (or 91?) there was some newbie stock (can't recall the name)...company had great growth but CEO had issued a warning...he was "cautiously optimistic" about upcoming quarter...and the stock plummeted from 40 to 20...so I bought 500 shares. The quarter turned out just fine...and the stock rebounded in 3 MONTHS back to 40 and I sold at a VERY handsome profit.

You LTBHers need to realize something...that's an 800% return on an annualized basis. NOT TOO SHABBY !!! And yes, I've managed to more or less repeat that several times over the last decade.

But you market-timers/traders need to realize this ( I just remembered the name)...the name of that company was Cisco. I've never calculated (for sanity reasons) what my investment would be worth today, but I'm sure whatever it is, I wouldn't be here writing this note...I'd probably be off at my beachfront condo looking for blonde hairs in my glass of champagne. Has to be the worst investment mistake of my life !!!

I now invest both ways...putting the bulk in LTBH gorillas, and do an occasional trade from time to time.
