Jim,
Stop sell orders at the market are kicking in. These orders get entered "at the market" when the limit is reached. The closest buy is what the order gets filled at. If a SS is entered at 70, when the price hits 70 the "sell at market" is entered but the closest buy order may be at 50 Watching ELON is a good example, when it breaks a whole number it dumps. If the market can clean out these sell orders the recovery will begin. If you want to go fishing, put some low ball buy limits in or watch for the prices to come off the lows and step in. Watching RTQ everything on my screen is off the daily low indicating a turn around is near. Nice to clear out the sells.
