MicroStrategy's restatement of earnings and revenue comes at a time when accounting regulators are looking at how the online industry in general books revenues -- scrutiny that could have a big impact on business-to-business e-commerce firms. In December, the SEC issued a bulletin that sought to clarify when a company can realize revenue. The bulletin played a part in MicroStrategy's revision Monday, company officials said.
