OT: RE biotech in portfolio

Hospitalman, I see your points. What Clinton & Blair did last week was the equivalent of what the UN did to the underseas mining industry two decades ago, when they declared underseas minerals to be "the common heritage of mankind".

And I love the high visibility of future earnings that we have in the high-speed optical & semiconductor areas.

But I can't help feeling that biotech is the place to be in the next ten years. Some of these technologies take an entire decade to go from research lab to application. Optical has just made that transition. Biotech has not quite made it yet. But the payoff will be huge.

This may be a little early to get in. But I'm trying to find companies that haven't been "discovered" yet, and have good long-term prospects. I need to do a lot of reading & research on these companies. Taking a small position in them helps me do that. It sharpens the appetite. :-)
