Globalstar's coverage is impressive, but it's not worldwide. Off the top of my head (my world maps are all old), it doesn't cover Peru, Paraguay, Tibet, Mongolia, Nigeria, Kenya, Algeria, Ethiopia, Sudan, Yemen, Lebanon, Egypt, Israel, Iraq, Iran, any place in Arabia, Serbia, Hungary, Turkey, Georgia (the country), Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, India, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, North Korea, South Korea, New Guinea, New Zealand, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Haiti, Colombia, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guiana, Surinam, I could go on, but surely that's enough to make the point. Say what you like about some of the countries on the list, why not India? Why not Pakistan? Why not Kuwait or Saudi Arabia? Why not Israel? Why not Egypt? Why not Nigeria?
