Drawing cards or a pitch... There is no difference in terms of "luck". Remember, however, that I am talking about poker, and not black jack or roulette. There is much skill involved in being a good poker player. The bad poker player is the gambler. Poker is too complex to be generally labeled as a game of luck.

I think that you probably feel comfortable with the game of baseball as an analogy to the market, but my point is that I will not be out of the game just because I got thrown out at home plate.

Poker (and baseball to some extent, looking a the entire game and as a team instead of an individual), is a progressive (or regressive) game. Bets are placed accordingly, and there is an exit strategy in each hand.
