The international partnership Globalstar Americas Corp announced yesterday in
press conference the commercial launching in Panama of the service of telephony
satelite, designed and destined to provide services to people who by its works or
likings move in areas that are not covered by the cellular telephony.
This system of communication is based on a technological assembly integrated by
48 active satellites and 8 of supports, in addition to 60estaciones lands, one of
them located in Nicaragua to cover the Central American area.
The signal of Globalstar, that it initiated operations the 11 of October of the last

El consorcio internacional Globalstar Americas Corp anunci¢ ayer en conferencia de
prensa el lanzamiento comercial en Panam del servicio de telefon¡a satelital,
dise¤ado y destinado para proveer servicios a personas que por sus trabajos o
aficiones se mueven en reas que no son cubiertas por la telefon¡a celular.
Este sistema de comunicaci¢n est fundamentado en un conjunto tecnol¢gico
integrado por 48 sat‚lites activos y 8 de soportes, adem s de 60estaciones terrenos,
una de ellas ubicada en Nicaragua para cubrir el rea centroamericana.
La se¤al de Globalstar, que inici¢ operaciones el 11 de octubre del a¤o pasado,
cubre casi todo el planeta con excepci¢n de los polos, con sat‚lites de baja ¢rbita,
