KeepItSimple, Ever looked at the layout of the playstation 2? I own one, and i've taken it apart. The RDRAM is situated directly next to the cpu, along the left and bottom sides. One would expect them to be positioned close together. Even if they were touching, the trace lengths would be more than 1/4" (as long as they are on the same side of the board). Just look at the component footprints. Don't forget that the clock generator and termination resistors also have to be connected. John
