ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 21, 2000--
Collaboration Supports E-business Requirement for Customized
Enterprise Information and Digital Distribution
Optio(R) Software Inc. (Nasdaq NM: OPTO), a leading provider of software that enables organizations to extend their operations from paper-intensive commerce to e-business, and Ross Systems, Inc., a leading provider of Enterprise Software, today announced the formation of a strategic partnership. Under the agreement, Ross Systems will distribute Optio's e.ComPresent(TM), a B2B portal that provides secure, self-service access to personalized reports and business-critical documents via the Web.
"Our partnership with Optio is the next logical step to assist our client base in moving through the various phases of e-commerce enablement," said Alex Cooper, Ross Systems' vice president intergration services. "Optio e.ComPresent makes it easy for our customers to integrate all of their enterprise information into a browser-based business portal. The intuitive user interface ensures that customers can quickly gain access to key information over the Web and reduce overall total cost of ownership."
Ross Systems will offer out-of-the-box integration between iRenaissance and Optio's e.ComPresent for customers looking to gain secure Web access to up-to-date information on all aspects of their ongoing relationships from their ERM (Enterprise Relationship Management) applications. This includes open orders, shipping status, online billing information and other in-depth account details. E.ComPresent's smart alerts will also notify Ross' users of newly published content and updates via e-mail or wireless devices, such as the Palm VII PDA.
The e.ComPresent portal utilizes OptioDCS(TM) (Document Customization Server) to tap directly into the information created by Ross Systems' ERP applications, as well as other information sources, including external databases and files. OptioDCS integrates with leading enterprise applications and proprietary systems, allowing users to tailor the information generated from these applications and intelligently distribute it to a global network of digital destinations, including the Internet, e-mail, printers, faxes and wireless devices--all without costly and time-consuming programming and without disruption to core business processes. This allows users to leverage their IT investment and existing infrastructure while extending their reach to support the customized information requirements across the information value chain.
"We're pleased that Ross Systems has selected Optio to fuel its e-business initiative, providing information customization, presentment and delivery capabilities to its customers," said C. Wayne Cape, chairman and CEO of Optio. "We will continue to deploy solutions that leverage the investments made by Ross Systems' users to help them make the transition to e-business enablement as easy as possible."
