Tony, If INTEL's policy isn't to talk about unannounced products, then either they announce them way ahead of time, or their product planning department routinely leaks the information in violation of company policy. CT -> __ if IBM -> HAL (in 2001: A Space Odyssey). JMHO re. INTEL announcements not being about technology far in the future. Not meant as a flame. Scott

BTW - You imply that INTEL and AMD will be at 2 GHZ at the same time as IBM. The article you objected to my enthusiasm about included "THAT DAY is not far away. IBM Corp.?s Enterprise Systems Group already has working prototypes of its forthcoming Power4 processor, a chip that officials say will boost the performance of high-end servers used for Web hosting and e-commerce." Perhaps I overlooked information regarding 2 GHZ Intel and AMD prototypes and you would like to point me to the appropriate links? TIA, Scott
