Just as higher performance PC's have filtered down to the normal user, don't you expect EVERYONE will want high bandwith applications? Sooner rather than later?

CPU's currently have no place internally to put a large chunk of data. It will require fundamental changes in CPU architecture to take advantage of high bandwidth DRAM.

Graphics chips are a different story however, as they do move very large blocks of data around.
