DaveMG: This is the good news, bad news drill.

The good. Nokia seems to be on board CDMA2000 - even though the way it plans to board seems a bit vague and even odd.

But even so, why CDMA2000? Why silent on WCDMA?

The bad. FUD. Looks very much like an attempt by Motorola and Nokia to throw a monkeywrench into the HDR approval process.

(1XRTT standard is already fully approved by world standards bodies, no?)

Bottom line. Nokia is (perhaps) prepared to participate in some way in CDMA2000 as a "base" for an "upgrade"[sic.].

Will be fun to see how (if at all) this whole subject is dealt with by Nokia at its meeting tomorrow.

Best.
