Chris N.,

I too was contacted by Charles Schwab & Co., Inc. As I do not use margin, I was not too put-off by their announcement.

Oddly, I was encouraged to see that they were being proactive about which securities were appropriate for margin. When and if the world regresses to a more normal return scenario, much of the accumulated margin debt is going to cause some intense and unenviable situations. I appreciate Schwab's willingness to be more restrictive than the other on-line firms who may or may not be prepared (or experienced firsthand) a situation like 1987 -- if it were to arise.

Big announcement out of Exton yesterday. I appreciate the confidentiality issues, but if CFMT were AMAT, wouldn't TSM or UMC want to be associated with a release like that one? That said, it is not a stupid thing for these guys to broaden the applications for Full-Flow. At the very least, it will give them a broader portfolio that they can pare down during the next trough!<g>

Still a shareholder, growing more frustrated with every passing quarter.

Good to hear from you, CN.
