Wednesday March 22, 7:02 am Eastern Time Company Press Release SOURCE: Vidnet David Gassman to Head Major New Content Acquisition Effort For Entertainment Boulevard's Vidnet LOS ANGELES, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Vidnet's presence in the entertainment community has taken a significant step forward with the appointment of David Gassman, formerly an agent at talent powerhouse ICM, as Director, Content Acquisition. Gassman will head Vidnet's major new campaign to create partnerships with film studios, record labels, TV networks, sports and fashion entities, and others, to provide content for Vidnet's Web site (www.vidnet.com), which in turn offers a high visibility promotional platform for those entertainment companies who want to expose their brands to the exploding Internet marketplace through audio and video.
Los Angeles-based Vidnet provides the highest quality entertainment- related ``streaming media' (television-quality audio and video) on the Internet. Through its network of Web sites, consumers can access music videos, movie previews, sports broadcasts, short films and other programming on demand. Vidnet is a division of Entertainment Boulevard, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: EBLDE - news). Today's announcement was made by Stephen Brown, founder and CEO, and Adam Clampitt, VP, Business Development.
``Vidnet is going to the next level when it comes to allying itself with entertainment providers,' says Gassman. ``While at a large agency such as ICM, I gained a knowledge of the landscape and the players across the entertainment spectrum and got a jump start on new media. At Vidnet, we can show content creators that this is the best promotional vehicle on the Net when it comes to streaming media, from the standpoint of quality and also that we reach a lot of eyeballs.'
Gassman points out that Vidnet is a content destination site that also syndicates its content, with real estate on some 30 other sites. Vidnet also offers its strategic partners backroom functions such as encoding for streaming audio and video.
Gassman, 30, began his career in 1995 in a traditional Hollywood way, in the mailroom at ICM. He soon became an assistant to ICM's Chairman and CEO Jeff Berg and then an agent. Gassman had joined ICM immediately after receiving his law degree from New York Law School, during which time he interned at both Polygram Records and New Line Cinema in New York City. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin in 1991.
