I rarely get hang up calls on my home phone. On one of my work phones I get hang up calls frequently. I am 95 percent certain I know why...it is one of the girl friends of the guy that usually answers the phone and she does not want to talk to me! I get hang up calls frequently, as do many people I know. It's auto-dialing telemarketers. Their systems call using predictive dialing where they estimate the chances of getting someone at home, which ring they will pick up on, and when the next operator will be available. When they are wrong and have a live line but no telemarketer to take it, the machine hangs up! It does make many people nervous, if not downright scared and should be prohibited.
