Regarding point 1 c:

>EMC has identified a heretofore unknown NAS technology with the price/performance and scalability required to
fend off NTAP.<

Dear Downsouth,

Having come to recognize your posts as virtually invaluable in my understanding of the EMC/NTAP relationship, am I correct in assuming you consider the above to be a remote possibility? And if that assumption is correct based on that which you posted under point #2 that "NTAP's WAFL, SNAPSHOT, multi-protocol, and clustering technologies are unequaled by any of its NAS competitors and that WAFL and SNAPSHOT are protected by patents and ... the value chains linked to these technologies are very long and strong..." that you do in fact consider NTAP to be a gorilla within the NAS market?

Much thanks for all the help you have been in helping me better formulate my respective positions vis a vis EMC and NTAP!
