This issue is still unclear to me. Several products and protocols using something like this architecture were being developed in the mid 90s. S1 was likely working, the lab from which CORI got the Voyager technology was working, MS had its MFIST, some others I might have forgotten. It wouldn't surprise me if the patent is overturned or unenforceable. Still, just being the aggressor here may buy S1 some time to shore up its weak spots, such as OFX.

And as I said, CORI's "big" wins so far involve layering their NT system over the existing system and running OFX Publisher software for that aspect. Will they be able to make further inroads, or will this punch knock 'em back?

Technically, it seems to me SONE is due for a rebound, but this uncertainty is holding it back. I'm watching the tape rather closely now to see if there are any indicators the smart money has made up its mind about this.
