Brian, when it is feasible to have a bus stop at my house, pick me up, take me to the train or subway, etc., and to have one meet me at the other end to take me within two blocks of my destination, I may prefer public transportation. Otherewise...........Anyway, not only do I not own an SUV, but my wife commutes most of the way by train and subway, from Annapolis to the Dupont Circle area of Washington, a couple of blocks from the Brookings Institution. I wish the train station were close to us, but she has to drive 20 minutes to reach it........
