I found 22 years worth of gold prices and 30yr bond prices (September 1977 to August 1999) and charted them along with the ratio for you. Bond prices are obviously the inverse of interest rates, so you have to remember that when looking at the charts. I put grid lines every two years on the X-axis. I will leave the analysis to you.

The charts are on my Prodigy personal page: pages.prodigy.net
I hope this is an acceptable way of providing you the data.
