I said something yesterday that implied that the LAK Ranch reservoir is a heavy oil resource. Actually it is considered an intermediate weight oil. The Black Rock project where the SAGD process has been ambly proven IS a heavy oil resource and requires that the oil be heated to 140 degrees Fahrenheit to get it flowing at desired rates. The LAK Ranch oil will need to be heated only to 70 degrees Fahrenheit (room temperature!). This means that much less steam will be needed to heat the reservoir and is very favorable to the LAK Ranch recovery economics.
