But that's the point after all. If customers offend you and you have no right to have them expelled, then you should cross the place off your list. One of the major problems in restaurants is dealing with unattractive and unpleasant customers. Adam's Mark hotels just paid a big settlement because they overcharged black customers and banned them from their restaurants. One right I believe restaurants retain is the right to seat the customers where they will. The big open room is a real problem (remember Blues Brothers) but a well-designed modern restaurant should offer private rooms, nooks, booths, and many different semi-private arrangements. Because of my physical disfigurements I am accustomed to being shuttled into places where I will not disgust the other customers. Some people, especially babes in arms, object to a 6' 7" 450 pound sea creature stuffing entire raw living lobsters into a gaping hole in his head with long protruding tusks surrounded by long grey bristles. I understand that. Sometimes they just throw a couple of banquet table cloths over me. I like it best when they just let me sit in the lobster tank and feed as I will.
If a restaurant wants to hide unattractive customers, and they can do gracefully, I think they can.
By the way, I am never offended by dwarfish, middle-class, conservative twits eating in the same restaurant. Live and let live, I say.
