I'm real big on General Magic - GMGC. They have the industry's best Voice User Interface (VUI). This is much more than speech recognition. GMGC has a deal with GM to provide VUI access to their Onstar system, the internet & hands free phone calls. The Onstar deal includes AOL for internet content, Bell Atlantic for the nationwide footprint as well as developing a separate wireless phone that will allow you to take complete Onstar access with you in the removable phone. It only makes sense that QCOM will be involved in this end, since Bell Atlantic is CDMA & QCOM has the SnapTrack GPS chip. There are other applications that currently use GMGC's magicTalk platform (VUI). GMGC does have ties to QCOM via a partnership with Wireless Knowledge FWIW.
