TXN : can I volunteer for a hunt on this company ?

I am aware that TXN is not on the list of candidates now, hence the question. my reasons are a few :
1. I own the stock (profitably), but would like to characterize it better, in G&K terms, whilst I'm re-working thru rtrfm.

2. I believe trfm points to the possibility of several G/K candidates existing within the semi industry category, because it has many niche areas. I'd focus only on the prog-DSP aspects of TXN's business.

3. I personally believe, that TXN is either a G or a K. I cant determine which, yet (re-stating 1. differently).

4. reason for my statement 3. is the proliferation of mobile devices, primarily cellphones today, and the expected acceptance of "info appliances" in the near/mid term future. I believe all of these either currently use, or will in future use DSP technology, where I believe TXN has a huge market share.

I think I should be able to work thru my research, in the next 3 or so weeks.

Question : has this company been discussed to death, in the past, and were there any conclusions ? if so, I'd like to know the conclusion.

My hunt will be passive (ie wont contribute to thread bloat), but I am happy to post my findings if no one has any objections.

comments ? cheers, kumar
