Industry Canada has announced the selections for 2500 MHz MCS licensing. Inukshuk Internet and partners (LKC+MTI.b Joint Venture) is awarded 12 of 13 available service areas.

This is huge! It means that they have been given the monopoly to a set of frequencies and a mandate to use them to roll out a high-speed, two-way wireless Internet connection to every area of the country except Sask. (which went to SaskTel). I would expect over $1 Billion in revenue in the first year.

A financing will likely be needed to build up the infrastructure. That should be announced within a month or so.
