MSFT is also hated because they are at the top. People generally hate winners because most people can't relate to winning but can relate to losing. Powerless people feel much more comfortable rooting for the underdog because they feel like underdogs themselves. Intel always priced their products above the predatory pricing levels set by AMD, let who gets blamed for a price war? Today AMD wages a price war with much lower pricing but you would never admit it. You feel much more comfortable rooting for someone you can relate to. EP
