EF's zinc air batteries are distributed in Europe by Banner Telecom. I have a trade account with them. Their latest fax shot reads:

"With every Nokia 702 contract + 402 Just Talk, you will receive a free disposable battery worth œ9.99 (RRP). It comes fully charged + ready to go, and so will your customer."

This could be taken 2 ways:

1) They are pushing the zinc air batteries
2) The Nokia 402's and 702's are end of line and there is an inventory of unsold zinc airs that are being given away as incentive to get rid of the phones.

I think it is probably a bit of both. I am still to see a zinc air battery in the wild. I would buy one but there isn't one available for my Motorola Timeport. This is an important point because it is the Tri-band phones like this that need them. These are the phones that are suitable for intercontinental travel where the voltages are different. The 1800/900 MHz countries are on 220-240V power whereas the 1900MHz countries are on 110-120V. Travellers with dual/single band phones can just take their chargers with them. If I'm headed to the US, my UK spec Tri Band phone works but its charger doesn't.
