Goutama & Charles, excellent analysis of Intel production & pricing trends. Another reason for the glut of 500-600 MHz CuMines (besides binsplits) in the distributor channel is probably the fact that many/most of them are FCPGA packages and there are not enough mobo's available for them yet.

I think we will find the slope of the price vs. MHz curve declining in the next few months, a natural consequence of competition over the entire range and probable consumer/business backlash from exorbitant prices for the highest speed grades.

We will also find that the ratio of the average prices between market segments at the same MHz will decline. In other words, the CuMine 600 vs Celeron 600 will decline, the same thing on AMD's side, if they keep any overlap.
