Sector, I spoke to a KVH salesman today. We have used the Iridium phone on field projects in West Africa, so I was intrigued by the KVH offer. The Iridium phone cost over $3000 and is now collecting dust. I was a bit disappointed to find out that the Tracphone 25 doesn't have the capabilities that the Iridium had- i.e I need a phone I can throw in my backpack anywhere in the world, without carting around other stuff. From this standpoint, Globalstar has more to offer, and from what I am hearing other companies have more on the way. (Microsoft may be offering broadband services soon?) I'll have to read some of your previous posts to find out what it is about this company that your excited about. Inmarsat just seems like old technology to me.
