Revisiting the subject of the DoS attacks that disabled Yahoo, EBay, and E-Trade et al within the last several weeks.

If someone wanted to REALLY bring the whole internet to a halt they would target a major Certificate Authority like VeriSign for a DoS attack. If VeriSign were crippled by a DoS attack, VeriSign would be unable to act as trusted third-party for all their issued digital certificates. This would cause a LOT of problems, essentially disabling SSL secure encryption capabilities for many sites which depend on e-commerce for banking, on-line ordering, etc.

Hey, did you guys hear that VeriSign acquired Network Solutions recently? These are among the biggest names on the internet, that is BIG news!

PS, yesterday I passed my CIW E-Commerce Professional exam! My next exam is CIW Security Professional, which is where I want to go career-wise.
