Rick,
It's simply amazing that the Internet can facilitate the flow information (or disinformation) that was previously the domain of the privileged few. It can be acted upon (correctly or incorrectly) in seconds. I'm not a huge conspiracy theorist either, but anyone with an agenda can certainly move markets (ala the false Lucent press release this morning on YHOO). You're right - we have to pick great companies in which we believe will succeed in the long run and filter out the noise (or take advantage of it!)
