I thank you both for your reasonable responses.

I think, however, that those who take offense should be the party required to make changes ~ either in their seating arrangement, their patronage of the establishment, or, at the very least their sensitivities.

If we are to go through life trying to discern any action we might take that might cause offense, are we truly living our lives? Or are they being lived by others?

Butbutbut please do not mis-understand. I think we are responsible to humanity for acting conscientiously in consideration for/to others.

And aside to JLA,, yeah, we all need a little help and a few changes. I really wouldn't want to be perfect ~ the last guy who was thought to qualify got crucified. I can't imagine what modern "civilization" would do in that case.
