(Nasdaq: RNWK), the recognized leader in media delivery on the Internet, today announced that Goldberg, the host of last year's Academy Awards(R) ceremony and an Oscar(R) winner herself for Best Supporting Actress in Ghost, will host her first major online event in conjunction with RealNetworks, Inc. On Sunday, March 26 from 8:00pm to 11:30pm ET, Goldberg will host a live, interactive, audio-only webcast and commentary on this year's gala event featured exclusively at www.whoopi.com and on the Film.com and Screening Room channels in the RealPlayer(R).
The webcast will be an irreverent, truly global comedy web event showcasing Whoopi Goldberg's unique talents and incorporating interactive features, such as viewer email, that were made popular in RealNetworks' coverage of previous Academy Awards ceremonies. Viewers from around the world will be invited to submit their email comments, some of which may be read live by Whoopi Goldberg.
