Ian, Inprise has a significant institutional ownership compared to Corel. Merrill Lynch alone, owns about 5%. They have been long term investors in the company. Robert Coats (Management Insights), who was on the BOD, owns about 3%. Overall its about 25%, which is down from about 32% 3 months ago.

As for paying a break-up fee, $30 million is nothing compared to the $400+ million capitalization we lost in the past month. Better than paying the $30 million up front, why not back out and let Corel file a lawsuit for it. With 3-4 months left of operating capital, they'll want to settle as fast as they can.
