Hot and heavy 6 months ago???? How could that be? The G4e design wasn't even complete 6 months ago. Moto barely was shipping the G4 in .25um six months ago. AMD was still at .25um six months ago. AMD had ZERO Cu BEOL capability 6 months ago. But it does make some sense NOW. AMD is ready to open a state of the art mega fab producing .18um state of the art 1GHz Cu BEOL CPUs with on chip 256K L2 cache and local interconnect. Well, that describes Athlon or G4e.
