Eric and al,

I have held EMC since it was at $7 so I fell like I can shoot my mouth off here.

NAS and SAN are not competitors. They probably will be complementary. EMC and NTAP will be competitors in the NAS market. This thread and the NTAP thread are not competitors. Many of us hold and are optomistic about both companies.

One thing to remember. Thus far, EMC has been the most successful company in Enetrprise Storage. There is a war raging around SAN; EMC will probably win but SAN is still an emerging technology. It will take EMC tremendous effort to be successful with SAN. The question is how many fronts can EMC wage war on at the same time. Given the limited resources in any company there is some feeling that current customers will try to keep EMC in the marketplace where they currently dominate-- Enterprise evolving to SAN.

If I am way off please correct me.
