Hong Kong Broadband Network Ltd. in Strategic Co-operation with 3Com, Cisco, HP and Nortel Networks to Provide Leading Broadband Service
HONG KONG, March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Hong Kong Broadband Network Limited (HKBN, a subsidiary of City Telecom (H.K.) Ltd.) today announced a strategic co-operation with four of the world's leading corporations for advanced technologies, including 3Com, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard and Nortel Networks. Such co-operation represents a major step forward in the development of HKBN's wireless broadband network services.
HKBN has committed to investing HK$830 million within the next three years to the development of its broadband network, of which four-fifths will be invested in acquiring world-class technology and equipment. This investment will enable HKBN to establish reliable infrastructure that is capable of providing up to 70% of the total population of Hong Kong with efficient broadband services within three years.
