Calian's Systems Engineering Division Wins $1.5 Million Contract for Wireless
Test Equipment
KANATA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 24, 2000--CTY(TSE:CTY. - news) Calian (TSE: CTY - news) is pleased to
announce that its Systems Engineering Division has been awarded a $1.5 million contract from a major telecommunications
equipment provider.
Under the terms of the contract, Calian's System Engineering Division will supply customized RF test fixtures that provide band-selective frequency up- and
down-conversion and amplification in the 20 - 40 GHz frequency band (Ka-band). The test units will be used to verify the operation of digital microwave radios that
provide reliable, high-performance network backbones, capable of transporting large volumes of data and voice traffic for local multipoint distribution (LMDS).
Under the terms of the contract, Calian will provide the up- and down-converters over the next 5 months.
