When I posted, I had not yet read your posting. I simply responded to what appeared in my inbox. I think that you are expressing the "discrepancy" a little strongly. I don't hear any "outrage" about feeding one's child in public, merely a question of an attempt at discretion when possible. Perhaps I am giving too much credit, but I think that Neocon, JLA, et al. in a situation such as you describe--a screaming baby and leaking breasts--would be among the first to recognize the necessity of nursing the child ASAP and damn the surroundings! I think that we are dealing with those times that are not as urgent and when it is possible to be less public.
