My counterpoint was simply that the training of EMC system admins is not a barrier to NTAP. Both NTAP and EMC need new customers and none of them are trained on EMC. Because NTAP filers are built from off-the-shelf components, supporting 10GB e-net will be a simple matter. No hardware to build, some OS interfaces to write. Your post is very informative, as usual, buck. We agree about most everything, including the market segmentation. 10TB is a good number, but just a couple of years ago it was around 2TB. We won't see EMC and NTAP cooperating. They are too competitive in nature. What are the prospects of EMC buying Auspex. Its cheap an worth every penny <g>.
