Re: "Gore can't tell Reno to settle, for 2 reasons:
1) Gore is not the president yet, he can't tell Reno to do anything
2) Reno is not a judge, she can only press charges, whether to settle or not, it's up to the Court"

Is that the way our judicial system works or is that the way our policial system works?

P.S. I heard on CNBC last week that Jackson and the DOJ had come down so hard on MSFT (officially stating they are monopoly) to get Bill Gates to sit down and negotiate a settlement. Latest from Jackson was to push for a settlement by telling both sides he would hold off making a decision if they decided to sit down and talk, otherwise he was ready to make a decision by today or next Friday at the latest. Hence MSFT/DOJ talking this weekend if they can't come to a decision Jackson will come down real hard on MSFT as he knows they will appeal to Supreme Court. So it looks like politics all the way IMO.
